Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Jazz Games ("Jazz Games", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares information when you play Vice Empire on iPhone and use its related websites (together, the "Services"), and the choices you have, including deleting your account.
The short version. You can play without giving us your name or email. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we keep your game on our servers under that account. Other players see your nickname, your empire's standing and what you write in chat. We do not sell your personal information. You can delete your account and everything we hold about you from inside the game: Settings, Delete account.
1. Who we are
Vice Empire is published by Jazz Games. For privacy questions or requests, write to hello@jazzgames.net.
2. Information we collect
Your account
When you first open the game, we create an anonymous account for your device through Firebase Authentication, so your progress has an owner without you giving us anything. If you choose Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, that provider tells us an account identifier and, if you allow it, your name and email address (Apple lets you hide your real email). We use these only to sign you in and to recover your game on a new device.
Your game
- Your save: the state of your empire (businesses, money, upgrades, crew, story choices), stored so you can continue on another device.
- Your public profile: the nickname you choose, and what the game publishes so other players can find you on the map: your district, a power band, your number of businesses, your heat, your clan, when you were last seen, and whether you are protected.
- Encounters with other players: raids, threats, scouting, bribes and spies between you and others, the results of fights, and the messages the game sends you about them.
- Seasons and clans: your season score, and your clan membership, role and contributions.
What you write
Your nickname, clan names and tags you create, and the messages you send in direct and clan chat. Chat is filtered automatically before it is delivered (it stops personal details such as phone numbers, emails and links, real-life threats and slurs). If a player reports a message, we keep a copy of it, who wrote it and who reported it so it can be reviewed.
Purchases
Purchases are made through Apple. Our subscription partner RevenueCat tells us what you are entitled to; we never receive your payment card details.
Diagnostics, analytics and advertising measurement
We collect device type, operating system and app version, crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics), and usage events such as screens opened and actions taken (Firebase Analytics), to keep the game reliable and understand how it is played. To measure which advertising campaigns bring players, we use Apple's SKAdNetwork and AdServices attribution, and the Meta (Facebook) SDK. If you allow tracking when iOS asks (App Tracking Transparency), your device's advertising identifier may be used for this measurement; if you do not, it is not.
Support
Anything you send us when you contact support.
3. How we use information
- To run the game: save and restore your progress, put your empire on the map, match fights, deliver messages, run clans and seasons.
- To keep the game fair and safe: check that requests come from a real copy of the app (Firebase App Check), limit abuse, filter chat, and review reports.
- To process purchases and restore them.
- To fix crashes, understand how the game is played and improve it.
- To measure advertising, where you have allowed it.
- To answer you, and to meet legal obligations.
4. Characters written by AI
Some things the crew leaders in the game say and decide are produced by an AI model (Google Gemini). What we send it is the game's own data only: a leader's in-game traits, the situation's ids and numbers, and names from the game's own lists. Nothing you type, and no personal information about you, is ever sent to the model. The text it returns is fiction written for a game.
5. Who we share information with
| Who | What for |
|---|---|
| Other players | Your nickname, public profile, clan, fight results that involve them, and messages you send them or post in their clan's channels. |
| Google Firebase | Sign-in, database, server functions, App Check, Remote Config, Analytics and Crashlytics. Servers in the EU (europe-west1) and the US. |
| Google Gemini | Leader dialogue, as described in section 4. No personal information. |
| Apple, Google | Sign in with Apple or Google, if you use it; Apple for purchases and SKAdNetwork. |
| RevenueCat | Subscription and purchase status. |
| Meta | Install and campaign measurement, subject to your tracking choice. |
| Authorities | When required by law, or to protect players, the public or us. |
If Jazz Games is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of it under this Policy. We do not sell your personal information.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account and game for as long as you play. If you delete your account, it is removed as described below. Reports about messages are kept until they have been reviewed and for as long as the account involved exists. Crash and analytics data are kept by Firebase for its standard retention periods (up to 14 months for Analytics).
7. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the game: Settings, Delete account. This removes, from our servers and your phone: your save, your public profile and nickname, your inbox, the fights, threats and secret work you were part of, your season score, your direct-message conversations and every message you wrote in clan chat, and your sign-in itself. If you are in a clan you leave it first; if you led it, it passes to the next member in line. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke the game's access to your Apple ID.
If you cannot open the game, email hello@jazzgames.net from the address you signed in with, or tell us your nickname, and we will delete it for you within 30 days.
"Start again" in Settings is different: it wipes your game and starts a new one, but does not delete your account.
8. Children
Vice Empire is a game about a fictional criminal empire and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Where information is processed
Our service providers process information in the European Union, the United States and other countries where they operate. Where the law requires it, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
10. Your rights and choices
- Play without signing in, or sign out at any time.
- Change your nickname in Settings.
- Decline tracking when iOS asks, or change it later in iOS Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.
- Block or report other players in chat.
- Delete your account in the game.
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, KVKK in Türkiye and US state laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your information, to object to or restrict its use, and to complain to your data protection authority. Write to hello@jazzgames.net and we will answer within 30 days. Where we rely on consent (such as tracking), you can withdraw it at any time; otherwise we process information to provide the game you asked for, and for our legitimate interest in keeping it working, fair and safe.
11. Security
Information travels encrypted, and our database only lets each player read what the game allows them to. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee it.
12. Changes
If we change this Policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the game.
